I know I might have offended some people with the title of the post, and if that’s you then I am sincerely sorry that you are so sensitive. I’m not sorry for the title, though, because I legit feel like I’m a fur coat and a big cup away from saying “Bitch better have my money” and meaning it. I’ve already got a fly name, courtesy of this generator: Flava K Honey [insert pimp laugh]. Now kiss my pinky ring.
Now that Spring is here, it’s time to bring out the bright colors – which are MY FAVORITE! Well, bright colors are probably tied for bold prints. Don’t get me wrong, I love an all black outfit but there is something about super shield-your-eyes-bright colors that gets me excited. Since I’ve recently embarked on this journey to discover my own personal style, I realized that I was dressing how I thought other people might think I should dress. When I shop now and I find something I like that might be different than what I’m used to wearing, I find myself briefly questioning if my friends would look sideways at me for wearing a certain item, or if my mama would declare that it was “too loud”. When I realize that I’m doing that, I frown at myself and add that baby to cart. (I admit that this might be my way of justifying my shopaholicism/impulse buying, I may or may not be working on that.)
What I discovered so far is that colors (and bold prints) are my jam. Even when I’m wearing all black, I usually have to find some kind of way to throw some color in there – whether it be on my shoes, my nails, or a wristwatch that’s just on my arm for decoration.
Spring also brings a new skincare regimen. Over the last few months I’ve been trying out new products and different regimens to figure out what works best for my skin. Recently, I was sent a few products by Valentia to try out. I was axious to incorporate these products into my existing regimen, because I love trying out new products to see what works best for me.
The unfortunate thing about skin care – especially facial skin care – is that sometimes you have to use products a for a while to see if they actually work on your skin. I used these products together over the course of a few days and my skin pretty much freaked out even though the products are made of natural ingredients. Now, it could be that if I were to continue using the products longer, it would be fine and my skin would go back to being smoother and softer. However, I didn’t want to take that risk because I could have used it for another month or with no guarantee that it would get better. I immediately went back to using my usual products and the inflammation went away. I’m pretty bummed about it because I’ve seen reviews that this is great for sensitive skin, which I have, but it didn’t like my skin. I may try it again later and tough it out to see if it would eventually get better.
